Who invented the Spin Mop?
The first version of a spin mop was the Miracle Mop in 1990, invented by American inventor and entrepreneur-Joy Mangano. The Miracle Mop is also known as a self-wringing mop. When Mangano first appeared with her Miracle Mop on QVC, she sold more than 18,000 mops in less than 30 minutes.
How did spin mop gain its popularity?
Following the appearance of the Miracle Mop, other companies put their efforts into improving upon and designing a new version of the mop. In Asia, women tend to do more of the mopping work at home, mostly using the old-style wet mop.
